Partnership in the gospel

In his epistle to the Philippians, Paul is thankful to God because of their partnership in the gospel.

Have you ever wondered what that meant?

We can see that the Philippians partnered with Paul in the gospel in 4 ways.

Prayer

Philippians 1:19 – for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance…

Standing together for the gospel

Philippians 1:27–28 – Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God.

Suffering

Philippians 1:29–30 – For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake, 30 engaged in the same conflict that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.

Giving

Philippians 4:15 – And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.

We see that God did an amazing thing in Philippi. He took people from different backgrounds and different perspectives of life and unified them.

When we align ourselves to one purpose and vision, we enter into a partnership.

There is a call here for us to partner in the gospel.
